gritInVivo holds advanced features for the in vivo labs, supporting both the in vivo study design with dosing groups and all in study activities as well as support for the actual "in life" execution and capturing observations and in life measurements.
The application will also keep track of the biospecimen samples created during the study execution and sent to the different analysis departments. If the analysis results are also loaded into the platform they will automatically be linked to the relevant study and animal enabling the in vivo scientists to view both in life observations and biospecimen analysis results together.
Planning and running in vivo studies is a complicated endeavour. How many dosing groups? When to dose what groups? When should we take samples and what is the relevant pre-treatment? This is often something the in vivo scientists keep track of in protocols (documents) and complicated excel sheets.
We have a web based UI that can help you keep track of all this information. The user defines the relevant dosing groups, add number of animals per group and the system will set this up.
The user can then define all the relevant activities planned in the study - pretreatment, dosing, sampling etc - and when the actual work should happen. Per group and per animal.

Not only the planning of in vivo studies is complicated - the actual execution also have to be carefully planned in a way where it's in fact doable. Not all animals can be dosed at the same time.
When adding the activities in the study design the users can therefore not only specify at what time the dosing will happen, but also how long time an activity requires. The time schedule will then automatically be adapted accordingly.
If even more fine grained dosing schedules are needed the user can define that an activity should only be performed on some groups, on some animals or on some animals in some groups. Maybe group 1, 3 and 5 will be dosed on day one whereas group 2, 4 and 6 will be dosed on day 2 or similar.
When all activities have been added the user can see the dosing/activity plan on a timeline in a visualisation. Firstly, it gives a nice overview og what needs to heppen when but secondly helps in QC'ing the plan: Does this look correct.
If biospecimen samples are to be taken during the study the platform will keep track of the sample id's linked to the individual animals under the study id. The tracking ensures that - if the bioanalysis results are uploaded to the platform - the results are linked to the correct animals in the relevant study and that the in vivo scientist can see and analyse the results together with the in life data and observations collected during the study execution.
