Launch day: The open source version of grit is now live

Written by Claus Stie Kallesøe | May 5, 2025 5:00:00 AM

In October, we decided to turn our business upside down and offer our main product, the scientific data management platform grit, for free and as open source.

Today, we’re finally ready to launch.

What started out as a matter of cleaning up code and modularizing the platform ended up with the implementation of a completely new assay data model and a bunch of other improvements, so it’s been a busy couple of months, but we are very pleased with the end result.

Or maybe we should say the starting point. Because we will naturally keep adding functionality and improvements to the platform in the months to come.

Enterprise-level data management for all

The ambition with open sourcing grit has been to make enterprise-level data management accessible to everyone working with drug discovery.

Data management is so fundamental to the effectiveness and success of drug discovery and ultimately finding the next cure.

This is why everyone should have access to a great data management platform that allows them to store, manage, and visualise data across all pre-clinical drug discovery phases.  So their data is structured, accessible, and ready to be analysed, retrieved, and reused.

With grit, we can now offer such a platform, and we encourage you to check it out and evaluate if it could prove useful in your organisation.
