What is a SAR table?

A Structure Activity Relationship (SAR) table is a classic tool for medicinal chemists where they compare the different structures or structural components and their respective pharmacological properties. Comparing what compounds have what profile (results) is naturally not only for medicinal chemists. Any scientist/lab doing experiments could benefit from a “comparison table”. So that’s what we have here.

It gives the users the ability to select one or more compounds and combine that with columns of final results values from the different setups/experiments stored in the database. The SAR table only displays one value per combination of compound/assay. Hence, if a compound has been tested several times the user needs to select an “aggregation rule” in order to tell the system what to display.
