What are "Lookup tables"?

The grit42 system supports “controlled vocabulary” where users select from a predefined list of possible values. The individual organisation can thereby have their own defined list of Location’s, Origin’s, Strain’s etc.

The relevant values can be loaded into the underlying “lookup” tables from the “Data Import” menu. (Note: Require a certain role to do so).

But users can view the data - in order to check if a needed value is present - and can also export the values if relevant.
