Search by synonyms to find compounds / grit42 compound ID’s

Each compound in the grit42 platform - each grit42 compound ID - is unique and are hence only represented with a single row in the Compounds overview grid.

When the compounds get registered/uploaded to the database they often already have a name or ID from the originator and we therefore also have a “Origin compound ID” field in the front grid as shown below.

The synonyms represent other originator names or ID’s and - as shown above - the platform supports one, several or many synonyms per compound (grit42 ID) which can be found on the Synonyms tab of the relevant compound

In order to search for synonyms in the compound database the user should use the compound filter and create a “Origin compound ID is/like synonym_name” filter as shown here for Acuprin as synonym.

The result from the search will only return one row - the grit42 compound with Acuprin registered as a synonym - showing the search term (Acuprin) in the “Origin compound ID” column as shown here:

All synonyms registered on the compound in the search result can still be viewed by clicking the row and going to the Synonyms tab as shown above.
